(1905  -  21st July 1977)

Son of  W.P. 'Bill' Richardson's Great Uncle, Thomas Richardson

Thomas Hardie Richardson was born in the third quarter of 1905, the eighth child of Thomas Richardson and his wife Mary Eleanor (nee Purvis). His birth was registered in the Chester le Street Registration District.

Thomas was recorded, age 5 and at school, on the census of 1911 at home with his mother at 38 Cooperative Terrace, Usworth. His father was not at home on the night of the census and was counted in Cumbria. His Mam was 42 and he had three sisters Annie (19) was a teacher, Margaret (18) was a typist and Florence was 13 and at school. He also had two brothers, John M (10) and Robert M (5 months).

On the 9th April 1919, the family set off for Canada on the Minnesdosa, headed for New Brunswick and onward to Vancouver. Though most of the family were to return to England in the next few years, Thomas and his brother John Morley stayed and made a life in Canada.

In 1926, on the 14th August, Thomas married Ina Alexander Bird in Vancouver.  I do not yet know if they had any children.

Thomas died on the 21st July 1977, he was 77 years old and his death was registered in Vancouver.
